It acts as a prebiotic and local use of xylitol in low concentrations (1 &#8211; 3%) prevents the development of pathogens without interfering with the vitality of lactobacilli.<\/strong><br \/><strong>The mechanism of action consists in the growth of saprophytic microorganisms to the detriment of pathogenic species by stimulating the growth of beneficial fermentation products.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section
